We love cars for their smooth driving feel, wallet-saving fuel efficiency, and compact size on the tight streets of Pittsburgh; we love SUVs for their capability, storage capacity, and muscle. If you can find a happy balance of all of those aspects, you've really got a winner on your hands.

AutoGuide says, and we agree, that the 2017 Subaru Forester Limited SUV is the best of both worlds when it comes being a compact crossover SUV:

"A crossover should combine the driving style and feeling of a car with the size and practicality of an SUV, and the Forester embodies this category so well. Unlike traditional SUVs, it’s very easy to drive without a lot of body roll or bounciness. And unlike traditional cars, the Forester is very practical and has a ton of space." -Sami Haj-Assaad, AutoGuide

The Limited trim (2.5i) comes standard with Subaru's efficient BOXER four-cylinder engine, so it's not the most powerful crossover out there (unless you opt for the 2.0XT Forester model with 250 horsepower and a turbocharger). But its smooth performance, standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive capability, and classic Subaru demure make it a pleasant daily driver all the same.

The Limited, being the second-highest trim for the standard engine, under the Touring, is also incredibly well-equipped for the price.

Any small complaints that were had about the 2017 model--namely, limitations for the infotainment system--are largely fixed in the 2018 Subaru Forester Limited and other models. If you're a tech-junkie, you may prefer the updates in the 2018 model, but if you're looking to buy or lease now in the Pittsburgh area, the 2017 Forester is in-stock and ready to go.
