Subaru Outback Trim Levels
The Subaru Outback is available in multiple trim levels.
- Starting off the lineup is the Base model. The Base trim has plenty of features to offer even though it's the entry-level Subaru Outback. This trim level features cloth upholstery on the seats, and it also has a driver's seat that is height-adjustable for maximum comfort and versatility. The base level Subaru Outback also has automatic climate control for your comfort.
- Next in line is the Premium. This trim level features a leather steering wheel and heated front seats. There are more speakers in the sound system and more technology features with this trim level. The Premium also has heated side mirrors.
- The Onyx Edition follows with a power sunroof, a hands-free liftgate, a heated steering wheel, and water-repellent synthetic leather seats. The sound system is upgraded with this trim, and it has more safety technology as well.
- With the Onyx Edition XT comes a stronger turbocharged engine along with heated seats in the second row along with the first row. This trim adds a full-size spare tire too, and the front passenger's seat is also power-adjustable.
- The Wilderness trim is the most outdoor-oriented of the lineup. This trim level includes all-terrain tires, a lifted suspension system, and enhanced all-wheel drive. A front skid plate gives this trim more ground clearance and protection when you're driving off-road. A keyless entry system to the car is also included.
- The Limited trim adds a power sunroof and memory settings for the front passenger's seat. The upholstery is upgraded to leather and a navigation system is included.
- With the Limited XT you'll get the same features as the previous trims but a stronger turbo engine.
- The Touring has power-folding mirrors on the outside along with ventilated front seats and leather seats with contrast stitching.
- With the Touring XT you'll get the features of the Touring trim and a stronger engine.
Subaru Outback Interior and Exterior Design
No matter which trim level you choose, the Subaru Outback seats five people. Seating material varies, but all trims have a spacious cabin and plenty of cargo storage space. The Subaru Outback has a comfortable interior and exceptional visibility out the front with a broad windshield. Technology and safety are both top-notch in the Subaru Outback.
The Subaru Outback has standard LED headlights and a high ground clearance. Roof rails with cross bars are also standard, and some trims have a spare tire in case of emergencies. The Wilderness also has a special color scheme.
Subaru Outback Performance
The standard engine in the Subaru Outback is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder. This engine generates 182 horsepower and 176 pound-feet of torque. The XT and Wilderness trims have a turbo 2.4-liter engine that produces 260 horsepower. All-wheel drive is standard. The Subaru Outback tows 2,700 pounds across the board.
Subaru Outback Technology Features
The Subaru Outback's standard technology includes dual seven-inch touchscreen displays. Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ are also standard, along with a four-speaker sound system. The Premium has an 11.6-inch touchscreen instead, along with wireless Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay®. Starting with the Onyx you'll get a Harman Kardon sound system that has 12 speakers.
Subaru Outback Safety
For safety, the Subaru Outback has adaptive cruise control, lane departure mitigation, forward collision warning, and lane centering. Blind-spot warning, evasive steering assist, and rear cross-traffic alert are available with a package or standard starting with the Onyx Edition and up.
