The Subaru WRX has made a name for its self as a fast and powerful rally car that can keep up with other sports cars. Since Subaru first launched the WRX in the early 90's it has evolved a lot and now has two powerful models, the WRX and the WRX STI. But what is the difference between the WRX and STI?
The WRX and the STI are practically identical when just looking at them with a few small variations. Like the STI is equipped with a rear spoiler. Both vehicles also feature Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and a track-tuned suspension. The biggest difference between the two rally cars is the powertrain.

The Subaru WRX is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged Subaru BOXER four-cylinder engine with 268 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. While the Subaru WRX STI is powered by a 2.5-liter BOXER engine with 305 horsepower and 290 lb-ft of torque. Another major difference is the STI is equipped Driver Controlled Center Differential, which is an adapted version of Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, and Brembo performance braking system.
