The Subaru Outback has never been much for flash and flair--but after decades of success as one of the industry's most beloved wagon, it's starting to stretch out of its comfort zone and into a new driver-comfort zone.

It started years ago with the addition of a rip-roaring six-cylinder engine. And now, for 2017, Subaru it upping the ante with a surprising--and very high-class--addition to the Outback lineup.

It's the 2017 Subaru Outback Touring, and it brings an entirely new kind of premium performance to a rugged icon usually known for tackling deep snow drifts and muddy bogs. If you've been considering pricier options for wagons in Washington, Canonsburg, Bethel Park, Pittsburgh PA, and Wheeling, WV, you may want to take a look at this exciting new trim.

The all-new Outback Touring trim introduces a new exterior color option--Brilliant Brown--sleeker new roof rails, and model-specific wheel designs. The grille is a beautiful dark grey finish, with matching accents and a machined finish. The interior features standard "Java Brown" perforated leather-trimmed seating, for an outdoorsy and warm feel in a comfortable and suave package.

Unlike most Outback models, the new Touring trim gives you option of both the standard 175-horsepower, 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and the more powerful 256-horsepower 3.6-liter six-cylinder engine. Performance specs don't change over the previous model-year.

We can expect to see the new 2017 Outback and Outback Touring sometime in the next few weeks at Budd Baer Subaru--but if you can't to bear to just sit around and wait, contact us to learn about your options for pre-ordering.
